NCB Management Services - Repeated calls to wrong party
I rushed in from outside to answer my phone and I heard the message machine pick up. The caller identified herself as a debt collector and gave her name as Katie Barnes, and i picked up the receiver to speak. So far so good, the problem is that I am not the party they are trying to reach and I have repeatedly told the NCB caller this and have asked that I not be called. I do not remember how many times I have told the ncb caller that they are looking for my 30 yr old daughter, that I am not responsible for her bills, and that we are estranged, but it has been at least three times. As I see it, two times too many and illegal. This time when I told the collector this, she argued with me and said that I did not tell her that. She was extremely rude, and I am very angry for her attitude, for arguing with me, and for not honoring my request not to be called. I asked for and spoke to a "manager", Doug Jones, who said he would see that my name is removed. We'll see.
I realize tenacity is valued in a debt collector, but when does repeatedly harassing the wrong party become unacceptable?
